Wonderful Bohol

It was indeed sweeter the second time around.

We got an invitation a year ago from a dear friend. The venue? South Palms Beach Resort in Panglao, Bohol. And because we were so excited, we booked our tickets months ago (syempre dahil sale din).  June 1 pa lang nagpabook na kami and the roundtrip tickets only cost 1,630 pesos for two. Well, perks of booking ahead of time.

The flight we booked was for 4 days and I will only get regularized 2 days prior the departure date which happened to fall on a weekend. So hindi ko maffile yung leave ko because I will be out kung kelan maccredit at pwede ko na ifile. Ubusan ng leave to as early as the second month of the year. But things fell into place and I found out that I can access the site outside work and I can file the PTO using my phone while I was out. So okay lang, kaya push pa rin.

Our departure date was February 22, 2016 at 6:00 a.m. from Manila to Tagbilaran via Cebu Pacific. Of course, make sure you have a valid ID with you bearing the name on your ticket. As for me, maiden name ko pa rin ang nakalagay sa mga tickets ko kasi di namin napalitan yung pre populated details sa account namin. Good thing I still have valid IDs showing my maiden name. As a rule, for domestic flights, check in counters close 45 minutes before flight departure. Para less hassle, you can check in online on Cebu Pacific website or app 24 hrs before your scheduled flight. This will lessen wait time once you are already at the airport. This is the first time that we did this, we hate taking risks when we travel.

We arrived at Tagbilaran airport as scheduled. The couple made an arrangement with their hotel to pick their guests up at the airport at the scheduled arrival time. Naghintay kami ng konte for the shuttle and while they were coordinating. Kami lang kasi yung ganung time ang dating that date. That afternoon na rin yung wedding. While waiting, may mga lumalapit samin na mga drivers and tour guides to ask us if we want to avail their services. Hindi kami masyadong nakikipag-usap pag ganun. Meron lang isang manong kaming kinausap na nag-offer ng service using his car for a tour. 1,800 pesos kaming dalawa na for 1 whole day. Kinuha namin yung contact number nya in case kailanganin namin. Wala pa kasi kaming itinerary that time.

When we reached the resort, I was really amazed with the beauty of the place. The beach was crystal blue and everything was just perfect. I want to freeze the moment and just enjoy the view. Even the cameras cannot capture how beautiful the place is. But again, the place was South Palms Beach Resort. You may search their rates on their website. It’s quite pricey and our trip was not really planned so wala kaming malaking budget for our accommodation. Wala nga kaming kahit anong plano.

My husband went ahead and tried to inquire with the nearby resorts. Dumaluan Beach Resort is like 3 resorts after South Palms.

So we stayed at the second Dumaluan Beach Resort and agreed na lilipat na lang kami the next day. We took a nap and prepared for the wedding.

It was a lovely wedding. My dream wedding destination. The beach, the sunset, the fine sand, the sky and everything there is. I was amazed how two people love each other so much that they would leave everything behind for the one they love.

Moving forward, we took a rest the entire second day. We explored the beach and just laid down the fine white sand. It was a perfect day. Wala akong ibang nasabi kundi Thank you, Lord. Ulit ulit. I can still remember how I exctly felt that day up to this moment. And I promised myself, I shall return.

Nagtour kami on the third day.

  • Tarsier Sanctuary – 60 / head
  • Loboc River Cruise Floating Restaurant – 350 / head with buffet lunch
  • ATV ride around Chocolate Hills – 1700 / head for 2hrs
  • Chocolate Hills – 50 / head
  • Hanging Bridge – 10 / head + 150 photo (optional)

The second visit was worth it. Good thing we tried something new which was the ATV ride. It was quite expensive compared to what we had in Boracay but it was something to try on.

Swim pa more then after lunch nagprepare na kami pabalik ng Manila. May fee lahat. 🙂
